Many communities view gambling as a traditional pastime, making it difficult to recognize the presence of a problem. In addition, some cultures promote gambling as a way to enhance community spirit and boost the economy. However, these benefits may be offset by increased costs, such as increased crime and higher rents in gambling venues.<\/p>\n
In the context of public health, the benefits and costs of gambling can be structuralized using a model. These can be categorized into three classes: financial, labor, and health and well-being.
